New elastomeric bearings
New (left), ~6 yrs old (Right).
Just curious if new elastomerics generally look like the one on the left? Or if the manufacturing process is more variable with the amount of polymer showing? The new elastomerics have a .001" difference in thickness between each other. The old elastomerics have a .009" difference between each other. However, the old elastomerics are actually a bit thicker which I did not expect. Regardless, both the old and new elastomerics seem to fly just as smoothly as each other, I don't notice any difference by feel.. No RTB equipment at the moment to prove anything. I'm just bringing it up for discussion/comparison purposes, between old or new. New: L6979: 0.571" L6978: 0.570" Old: 6309: 0.576" 6308: 0.585" |
